When configuring multiple Office Dots in a sequence, it is important to apply certain rules to your workflow to reduce the chances of errors in the configuration. If you follow the following steps, potential room for error will be reduced by a significant amount.
Prior to configuring your first Office Dot, have a clear view on the zones and clusters for each zone that you are configuring. To learn more about Zones and Clusters, read this article: "What are zones and clusters?"
- Use the Bulk function of the setup app and fill in the details for your first Office Dot.
See this article if you want to read about the use of the bulk function: "Bulk editing a desk". - After scanning the first Office Dot. The sequence number will go up by +1. As long as the next desk is within the same cluster, DO NOT change cluster count.
- After scanning all desks in one cluster. Click the (+10) once and go to the next cluster within that zone.
- After scanning all the desks within the zone. Go to the next zone. Selecting another zone will automatically reset the cluster and sequence count.
Example count:
Zone 1:
Desk 1 - cluster 1: 10-01
Desk 2 - cluster 1: 10-02
Desk 3 - cluster 1: 10-03
Desk 4 - cluster 1: 10-04
Desk 1 - cluster 2: 20-01
Desk 2 - cluster 2: 20-02
Desk 3 - cluster 2: 20-03
Desk 4 - cluster 2: 20-04
Zone 2:
Desk 1 - cluster 1: 10-01
Desk 2 - cluster 1: 10-02
Desk 3 - cluster 1: 10-03
Desk 4 - cluster 1: 10-04
Desk 1 - cluster 2: 20-01
Desk 2 - cluster 2: 20-02
Desk 3 - cluster 2: 20-03
Desk 4 - cluster 2: 20-04
As can be seen in the example, the sequence number resets to 1 when the cluster goes up by +10. Both sequence and cluster number reset when the zone is changed.
Troubleshooting
- I accidentally configured a group of Office Dots wrong within a zone.
Configured Office Dots can easily be overwritten by configuring them again. Find the first desk that is incorrectly configured and apply correct changes from there.
Note: As zones are all independent from each other. A fault in one zone leaves the other zones unaffected. - I accidentally configured one Office Dot wrong.
If there are only a few individual desks that are configured wrong or changed over time (i.e. desk has been moved to another location within the building). Please use the edit function of the setup app to change the individual configuration. Read this article for instructions to use the edit function: "Editing a desk"
