Introduction
The room booking dashboard depicts historic room booking data in different type of graphs and tables using different filters, e.g. date, location, office hours, workspace type or zones. In essence this dashboard shows you:
- What quantity of rooms and associated room capacity is made available to staff across locations, floors, zones;
- How many of those rooms (and capacity) are booked by staff; and
- How many of those rooms (and capacity) are not booked.
Example of Room Booking Dashboard
This intelligence is depicted by two types of measures, i.e.:
- Workspace equivalents- the amount of hours of a day (as determined by your selection) is equivalent to 1 workspace; and
- Distinct workspaces- the absolute number of a workspace, i.e. one.
To clarify: in case of a workday selection of 8 hours, two bookings of 2 different desks of 4 hours each would amount to: one (1) Workspace equivalent and two (2) Distinct workspaces.
Multiple sheets
The dashboard contains 4 different sheets:
- Capacity by DAY or HOUR - contains an overview of the capacity of desk that is present at the office and how it is made available (or not) to staff;
- Booking by DAY or HOUR - contains desk booking information aggregated to day and hour averages using bar graphs and focussing on the desks that are made available to staff;
- Booking by DAY or DOW - contains desk booking information aggregated to day averages as well as to Day of Week averages;
- Booking by LOCATION or FLOOR - contains desk booking information aggregated to day averages and split to locations and/or floors.
Data selection controls
At the top of each sheet a set of data selection controls (or data filters) is shown. By making your selection of the controls, you filter/constrain the data that are shown in the different graphs of the sheet. Be aware that the selections work across all sheets of the dashboard, thus filtering/constraining the data of the other sheets' graphs as well. The controls enable selection of:
- Location(s) - a multiple select dropdown of applicable office location(s);
- Floor(s) - a multiple select dropdown of applicable floor(s), depending the location selection;
- Zone(s) - a multiple select dropdown of applicable zone(s), depending the location and floor selection;
- Workspace type(s) - a multiple select dropdown of applicable workspace type(s), depending the location, floor and zone selection;
- Bookable - a multiple select dropdown filtering to indicate if you wish to view Bookable workspaces (Yes), non-Bookable workspaces (No) and/or All;
- Hour from and until - two slider selectors of 'clock hour' to select the office hours for which you wish to see the data. Hour until defines the time up to the 59th minute of the selected 'clock hour'; and
- Date from and to - two date selectors to determine the reporting period of the data.
Graph and table options
The graphs have a couple of selection options:
- A slider a the bottom end to zoom in or out along the x-axis measure;
- A hover over to show details for a particular (part of a) column; and
- A menu at the top right corner to enlarge the graph's display size or to export the graphs data as presented, without the underlying details, to a CSV file.
The pivot table allow you to:
- Expand/collapse on rows and columns; and
- Slide along the columns made possible by the slider at the bottom.
Capacity by DAY or HOUR
This sheet depicts the capacity of desks in distinct workspaces during weekdays (Monday to Friday) at an office location, split to different availability statuses:
- Blocked (i.e. not available) for Health & Safety reasons;
- Available for team seating; and
- Available for individual seating.
Where:
- Graph A.1 shows day by day averages; and
- Graph A.2 shows hour by hour averages
Booking by DAY or HOUR
This sheet depicts the booking status (bookedornot booked) of available desks (team and individual seating) in relative (%) and absolute (#) numbers for distinct or workspace equivalent counts, where:
- Graph A.1 to A.3 shows day by day averages; and
- Graph B.1. to B.3 show hour by hour averages.
Booking by DAY or DOW
This sheet depicts the booking status (booked or not booked) of available desks (team and individual seating) in relative (%) and absolute (#) numbers for distinct or workspace equivalent counts, where:
- Graph A.1 and A.2 shows day by day averages; and
- Graph B.1. shows day of week averages, i.e. averages for the Monday - Friday during the selected reporting period.(Be aware that amendments of offered available workspaces during the reporting period may skew the data and render it a little incomparable.)
Booking by LOCATION or FLOOR
This sheet depicts the booking status (booked or not booked) of available desks (team and individual seating) in relative (%) and absolute (#) numbers for distinct or workspace equivalent counts, where:
- Graph A.1 shows day by day averages by Location;
- Pivot A.2 shows day by day averages by Location;
- Graph B.1. shows day by day averages by Floor; and
- Pivot B.2 shows day by day averages by Location and Floor.
